The metal pipeline stray current prediction method based on numerical analysis comprises the steps of simplifying the condition of a target metal pipeline and that of the ground electrode of the direct current power transmission system; constructing a mathematical model for metal pipeline stray current caused by the ground electrode of the direct current power transmission system; limiting, based the mathematical model, an area of the metal pipeline and the direct current power transmission system, and determining corresponding boundary conditions; constructing a geometrical model for the target metal pipeline; using the mathematical model and the geometrical model as well as numerical simulation software to perform analog simulation, and calculating magnitude of the stray current in the metal pipeline.
