Abstract

The invention discloses a method for measuring content of total sugars in total flavonoids of herba desmodii styracifolii. According to an embodiment, the method comprises steps as follows: (1) the total flavonoids of herba desmodii styracifolii are extracted with water or ethanol, and a total sugar extracting solution is obtained; (2) a 4% phenol reagent and sulfuric acid are added to the total sugar extracting solution, and a to-be-measured solution is obtained; (3) the to-be-measured solution is detected under the wavelength of 487 nm with an ultraviolet spectrophotometry, the absorbancy isobtained, and the content of total sugars in total flavonoids of herba desmodii styracifolii is calculated with a standard curve method. Accordingly, the content of total sugars in total flavonoids of herba desmodii styracifolii can be rapidly and accurately measured with the method.
