Abstract

Generally disclosed herein are oligomers of certain glyceride compounds. In some embodiments, the glyceride compound comprises natural oil glycerides, such as glycerides derived from natural oils such as palm oil, soybean oil, canola oil, and the like. Also disclosed herein are compositions containing such glyceride oligomers. Also disclosed herein are processes for making such glyceride oligomers. In some embodiments, the process for making such compounds comprises reacting a plurality of unsaturated glyceride compounds in the presence of a metathesis catalyst.
