Abstract

The invention provides an ARF gene of rubber trees. The ARF gene is a rubber tree growth inhibition factor HbARF2 gene, and the nucleotide sequence of the ARF gene is shown as SEQ ID NO:1. The invention also provides a protein coded by the HbARF2 gene and application of the protein. The HbARF2 gene is cloned from the rubber trees for the first time and is a transcriptive gene. It is verified by transgenic plants that the HbARF2 gene can delay the growth and development of stems, and it is indicated that the HbARF2 gene plays an important role in regulating and controlling the stems and the like of the rubber trees. Serving as a main source of natural rubber, the Brazilian rubber trees have a non-productive growth period which can last for 6-8 years; thus, by studying the molecular mechanism of HbARF2, knocking out genes and carrying out genetic improvement, the growth of the rubber trees is promoted, shortening of the non-productive growth period of the rubber trees is facilitated, theeconomic benefits of the rubber trees are increased, and meanwhile, a great basis is provided for other target breeding setting.
