Abstract

The invention discloses a transcription factor capable of inhibiting the synthesis of wheat grain storage protein (SSP) and its application. The transcription factor is composed of the nucleotide sequence shown in SEQ ID No.1, SEQ ID No.2, SEQ ID No.3 or SEQ ID No.4. The invention also discloses the application of the transcription factor in suppressing the expression of the SSP gene at the grain filling stage and finally reducing the SSP content in mature grains in common wheat. Agronomic traits such as plant height, effective tillering and grain number per panicle of the transcription factor overexpression line and the transcription factor RNAi line were not significantly affected.
