Embodiment Construction

[0034] First refer to figure 1 , the preferred embodiment 100 includes a chop saw configured to cut masonry, and more specifically, cut stone, brick, tile, and other masonry items. It should be understood that the inventive concepts herein are also applicable to woodworking circular saws and additionally to saws for cutting plastic and roofing materials. The dust collection system 100 of the present invention works in conjunction with a specially configured saw 201, dedicated cutting table 200 and dust collector arrangement. The saw, which may be a chop saw or chop saw, has a circular toothed blade 201 or grinding wheel and rotates in a vertical plane of rotation as shown. The chop saw is further mounted on a pivotable arm 205 which allows the saw to be raised and lowered from a non-cutting position to a cutting position such that the blade contacts a masonry workpiece 420 and lowers through the workpiece as the saw blade cuts 420.
