[0028] On the campus of Nanjing Forestry University (32° north latitude, 118° west longitude), the female plant of Nanlin 895 fast-growing poplar (NL895), the main species of American black poplar, which has grown for more than 15 years, was selected.
[0029] In March 2018, the female inflorescence florets of NL895 poplar female flowers were collected 1 day after pollination (1DPA), 3 days after pollination (3DPA) and 5 days after pollination (5DPA), placed in FAA fixative solution, and vacuumized. The female florets preserved in the fixative were planed longitudinally, dehydrated with gradient alcohol concentrations, dried, and observed with a scanning electron microscope.
