The design method is characterized in that the soil pressure intensity within the calculated depth range of eachsection of protection wall is calculated, and the maximum value is taken as the uniform distribution transverse load with respect to the unit area of steel plates corresponding to the protection walls; the lengths of the long sides and the short sides of the protection walls and the spacing between the two opposite inner-layer steel plates are determined according to the size of an anti-slide pile; and the inner-layer steel plate thickness, the outer-layer steel plate thickness, the inter-layer rib plate thickness, the inter-layer rib plate spacing and the steel structure thickness of each section of protection wall are calculated according to the uniform distribution transverse load and the maximum deflection limitation within the unit area of the steel plate of each section of protection wall. The design method can be applied to different soil conditions and excavation depths, and can save the construction period by about 87.5%.
