Abstract

Provided are an airfoil capable of suppressing peeling on an airfoil surface and a machine provided with the same. An airfoil includes an airfoil portion having a first airfoil surface and a second airfoil surface respectively extending along a spanwise direction between a leading edge and a trailing edge and having a symmetrical shape with respect to a chord; and one communication hole extendingin the airfoil portion and having a first opening end opening to the first airfoil surface and a second opening end opening to the second airfoil surface. The first opening end is located on a first cross-section orthogonal to the spanwise direction. The second opening end is located on a second cross-section orthogonal to the spanwise direction. In the first or second cross-section, an angle A1 satisfying condition (a) is present in an angle range of-10 degrees to 10 degrees inclusive with respect to a straight line centered on the leading edge, the straight line being parallel to an inflow direction of a fluid under an operation condition based on a design point of an airfoil-mounted device. Condition (a) is that the static pressure at the first open end on the first airfoil is equal tothe static pressure at the second open end on the second airfoil when the airfoil is subjected to a fluid flow from the direction of angle Al towards the direction of the leading edge.
