Problems solved by technology

At present, the appearance of electroplated chrome workpieces is obtained by spraying and physical vapor deposition. This process is suitable for flat workpieces with relatively simple product shapes. For complex workpiece shapes, there are shortcomings of uneven paint film and PVD film thickness. The process will also produce organic emissions such as VOC, which is not completely green and environmentally friendly
The electroplating process has the incomparable advantages of bringing high-quality appearance and high durability to the product, but the electroplating process can only be directly used on a limited number of plastic surfaces, and the pre-plating process is serious for environmental pollution, so need to be preprocessed
[0003] The optional electroplating pretreatment process includes PVD, etc. The principle of PVD process is to generate instantaneous high temperature on the target surface through argon ion bombardment to evaporate the material, and some materials will be deposited on the surface of the workpiece in the form of aggregated metal particle clusters (large particles). The particle clusters are amplified by the subsequent electroplating process, resulting in a large number of visible particles on the surface of the workpiece, which cannot match the high-quality appearance standard of traditional electroplating

Embodiment 1

[0036] Electroplating process of plastic metallization on the surface of plastic shower.

[0037] Step 1) Clean and dry the workpiece, put it into the vacuum chamber, turn on the turret, evacuate to less than 0.005Pa, pass in argon gas to reduce the vacuum to 0.3Pa, set the ion source to 1500V and clean for 300s, then restore the vacuum and simultaneously the workpiece cool down;

[0038] Step 2) magnetron sputtering chromium target, the current is set to 20A, the vacuum is restored after deposition for 180s, and the temperature of the workpiece is cooled to form a chromium layer with a thickness of about 40nm;

[0039] Step 3) Magnetron sputtering chromium target, current setting 20A; using magnetic filter device, arc copper target, current setting 150A; within 600s, gradually reduce the magnetron sputtering chromium target current to 10A, then restore the vacuum and cool the workpiece to form A chrome-copper alloy layer with a thickness of about 50 nm;

[0040] Step 4) Usi...

Abstract

The invention discloses an electroplating pre-plating process for plastic metallization. The process comprises the following steps of sequentially forming a metal bonding layer and a metal transitionlayer on the surface of a plastic workpiece by adopting an arc ion plating or magnetron sputtering process, and then depositing a metal conducting layer on the metal transition layer by adopting arc ion plating; the preparation process of the at least metal conducting layer comprises the following steps of arranging a magnetic filtering device between a metal target material and a vacuum chamber for placing the plastic workpiece, so that positively charged metal ions generated by the target material enter the vacuum chamber after being deflected by the magnetic filtering device and are deposited on the surface of the plastic workpiece. According to the process, particles evaporated from the metal target material pass through the magnetic filtering device deflected by the electrified magnetic field, neutral particle groups cannot be deposited on the surface of the workpiece, the situation that metal particle groups (large particles) gathered in a traditional PVD process are deposited onthe surface of a film layer is avoided, the film is smoother, and the metalized plastic workpiece can be electroplated to obtain a high-quality mirror surface appearance.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the technical field of plastic metallization, in particular to an electroplating pre-plating process for plastic metallization. Background technique [0002] The purpose of plastic metallization is to deposit a layer of conductive metal film on the surface of the original non-conductive plastic workpiece. Plastic metal coating technology includes spraying, physical vapor deposition (PVD), electroplating and other processes. At present, the appearance of electroplated chrome workpieces is obtained by spraying and physical vapor deposition. This process is suitable for flat workpieces with relatively simple product shapes. For complex workpiece shapes, there are shortcomings of uneven paint film and PVD film thickness. The process also produces organic emissions such as VOC, which is not completely green and environmentally friendly. The electroplating process has the incomparable advantages of bringing high-quality appearance a...
