[0081] Experiment 1 (control)
[0082]Experiment 1 was performed to demonstrate that the dilution factor of solution (A) in aqueous solution (B) was too high to produce a lipid-based coating. In order to investigate the excessively high dilution factor, the ethanol (absolute amount of ethanol ≥ 99.8% , VWR) to prepare solution (A) at a concentration of 50 mg / ml. Solution (A) was stored under argon at -20°C in microcentrifuge vessels (VWR) for up to 6 weeks. All lipids are ordered as powdered stock and stored under an argon atmosphere at -20°C for a maximum of 1 year. The aqueous solution (B) contained 0.1 M PBS buffer (Sigma-Aldrich), pH 7.4. In 1.5 mL of aqueous solution (B) at room temperature, 0.75 μL of solution (A) was added, thereby diluting to 0.025 mg of phospholipid per mL using a 2000-fold dilution factor. Solution (A) was dispensed into aqueous solution (B) using an air displacement P10 micropipette (Eppendorf). Stirring was performed using a benchtop vortex (l...
