Abstract

The invention discloses a multistage gas target system suitable for 10GeV electron acceleration. The system comprises a plurality of gas target units, an interstage connecting device, a gas target adjusting device and the like. According to the invention, a multi-stage gas target scheme with three or more stages is provided for the first time, the length and the longitudinal density distribution curve of the gas target are effectively regulated and controlled, long-distance acceleration of the electron beam is realized, and the energy of the electron beam is increased to 10GeV or more. The invention provides a feasible gas target implementation scheme for breaking through 10GeV energy challenge in laser-driven tail field acceleration research, and the gas target implementation scheme can be technically realized through a multi-stage gas box or a capillary tube.
