Abstract

The invention discloses an adjustable battery pack heat dissipation system and method based on a negative thermal expansion material. The system is composed of a variable-section cooling water pipe, a flow velocity sensor, a water temperature sensor and a controller. A plurality of cooling water pipes are bent and attached to the surface of a battery pack, each cooling water pipe is composed of an aluminum alloy shell and a middle partition plate of a negative thermal expansion structure, a plurality of flow velocity sensors and water temperature sensors are evenly distributed on the cooling pipes, the sensors collect cooling water flow data and are connected with a controller, and the controller controls a water pump. The flow velocity is changed by matching with a variable-section pipeline. By means of the deformation characteristic that the negative thermal expansion material shrinks after being heated, the cross section area of the pipeline can be increased along with increase of the cooling water temperature, meanwhile, the controller controls the water pump to increase the rotating speed, and finally the cooling efficiency of the cooling system is improved.
