Abstract

A coating composition comprises nano-sized precipitated calcium carbonate (NPCC) and at least one binder for coating support. The particle size of NPCC particles is 10-100 nm, especially 15-40 nm. More specifically, the average particle diameter of NPCC particles is substantially 30 nm. The invention also provides a method of preparing such a coating composition, and a method of applying such a coating composition to a support.
