Method for rehabilitation of external respiratory system in patients with chronic heart failure

ActiveRU2865164C1Abdominal respirationBiomechanics
FIELD: cardiology.SUBSTANCE: used as a component of the first stage of cardiac rehabilitation in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF), as well as an auxiliary component at all stages of cardiac rehabilitation. Warm-up exercises are performed – stretching exercises and movements in the joints of the upper body, followed by a basic set of breathing exercises lasting from 15 to 30 minutes, at least once a day, at least 5 days a week, for at least 8 weeks. At the first stage, the main set of exercises includes four exercises performed in sequence: abdominal breathing, chest breathing, breathing involving the shoulder muscles, breathing slowing. The first three exercises are performed for 5–10 breathing cycles with an interval between exercises of at least 1 minute, the fourth exercise contains 5–15 cycles, where each cycle includes an inhalation through the first nostril, followed by an exhalation and inhalation through the second nostril, then an exhalation through the first nostril . In the second and subsequent stages, the main set of exercises includes two exercises performed sequentially: an exercise for full breathing and an exercise for slowing down breathing. The full breathing exercise involves sequentially performing abdominal breathing, chest breathing, and breathing with the involvement of the shoulder muscles throughout one inhalation. The exhalation is performed in reverse order. The number of cycles of the full breathing exercise at the second stage is 15–20. The duration of each stage is at least 2 weeks, where at each subsequent stage, starting from the second one, the duration of the exercises performed in the main complex is increased by increasing the number of exercise cycles. Also the duration of inhalation and exhalation is increased when performing exercises to slow down breathing. The method improves the biomechanics of breathing: increases the depth of breathing, reduces the frequency of respiratory movements, increases the efficiency of breathing and reduces the activity of the inspiratory metaboreflex.EFFECT: exercise tolerance in patients with CHF improves.3 cl, 6 dwg, 3 ex

System and method for guiding and evaluating breathing exercise sessions by users

Described herein are a system and a method for automatically guiding and evaluating a user's performance during structured breathing exercise sessions. The system retrieves predetermined breathing patterns, including sequences of inhales, exhales, and breath-holds across one or more rounds. Each round includes at least two stages: a breath-hold stage and a first full breath stage immediately following the breath-hold. The system provides real-time guidance through sensory cues, receives user-initiated or automatic signals marking stage transitions, records the duration of each stage, and determines ideal or target durations. A longer first full breath duration indicates improved breath-hold performance and reduced stress. The system generates a final score for each round by combining breath-hold and first full breath durations, reflecting performance, relaxation, lung function, tolerance metrics, and the like. Aggregate session scores are computed across rounds, offering insights into exercise suitability, session effectiveness, and physiological adaptation over time.

Systems, devices, and methods for performing breathing exercises, improving lung function, performing pulmonary monitoring, and / or determining lung capacity and peak expiratory flow

PendingUS20260020824A1Gymnastic exercisingSpeech analysisLung volumesBreathing exercises
Systems, devices, and methods for determining a user's lung capacity may employ a sound-producing breathing device and a recording device such as a microphone included in a user electronic device (e.g., smart phone or tablet computer). A user may inhale or exhale through the sound-producing breathing device, thereby producing a sound that is received by the microphone and communicated to a processor. The processor may analyze the received sound recording to determine one or more sound intensity values over, for example, the duration of the received sound and / or points in time within the sound recording. The sound intensity values may then be used to determine the user's lung capacity.

Information processing apparatus, information processing method, and non-transitory computer readable medium

To provide an information processing apparatus and the like that are capable of dividing an image indicating movement of a subject into a chest region and an abdominal region along anatomical knowledge. The information processing apparatus inputs time-series distance image data acquired by measuring a distance from a subject during a breathing exercise. The apparatus calculates a standard deviation image indicating a standard deviation of values for each pixel in a distance image indicated by the time-series distance image data. The apparatus executes division processing of dividing the standard deviation image into the chest region and the abdominal region of the subject by using a differential value in a direction of an intersection line between a sagittal plane and a frontal plane of the subject with respect to the standard deviation image. The apparatus outputs a result of the division processing by superimposing the result on the standard deviation image.
