The invention describes a metal mesh plate damping composite material and a manufacturing method thereof. The composite material comprises a metal mesh composite plate compounding one or more layers of metal meshes and a metal plate, and an integral structure which fills glass fiber damping materials in mesh holes and surfaces of the metal mesh composite plate. The more-layer-metal meshes and glass fiber sandwich structure is formed by putting layer by layer at interval or continuously two layers or more metal meshes, and most top side is provided with the metal plate. The composite material is obtained by exploding and pressing after fixation. An explosive compound method is employed to facilitate to produce the metal mesh damping material with large size, so that the production cost is low. Various different damping materials are filled in the mesh holes and the surfaces of the metal mesh plate, so that the metal mesh plate has good damping function, while the metal mesh plate enables the damping materials to increase the bonding strength with the metal plate, prolong the service life, and enlarge the application range.
