In the application of the compressor, each stage is provided with separate input and output pipelines; the input and output pipelines are connected through the control of valve to form a compression system which can convert the connecting stage number and have four stages with four output pressures respectively lower than 0.9 times of a first-stage rated pressure, lower than 0.9 times of a second-stage rated pressure and higher than 0.9 times of the first-stage rated pressure, lowerthan 0.9 times of a third rated pressure and higher than 0.9 times of the second-stage rated pressure and lower than 0.9 times of a fourth-stage rated pressure and higher than 0.9 times of the third-stage rated pressure; through controlling and converting the on-off of each valve by an PLC, different stage connection modes are formed; and a drive motor is controlled by a transducer to determine an input power of the drive motor. Compared with the continuous type compression system, the ladder type compression system reduces 36 percent of the electrical energy consumption.
