Abstract

The invention belongs to the technical field of radio-on-fiber (ROF) communication systems, and discloses a system proposal for remotely transmitting local oscillation (LO) signals and simultaneously performing data down-conversion and uplink data modulation with nonlinear characteristics of an EAM. Sidebands of all stages which are sent by a central station are taken as the LO signal, a base station selectively filters by an optical band pass filter so that the base station only needs one EAM and one optical filter to realize data uplink transmission without laser source and local oscillation radio frequency source, thus greatly reducing devices of the base station, and reducing cost of the base station. In the precondition that the central station is not changed, the cost of the whole system can be reduced by changing the base station modulator into the EAM, thus the feasibility of the proposal is high, and the system can be easily realized.
