[0030] The method of the present invention is developed from the narrowband modulation analysis (NBMA) method known from EP 1462777A1 and will be further described. The narrowband modulation analysis method (NBMA method) is first explained in the detailed description below. The NBMA method is applied successively in mutually overlapping blocks in the time-domain profile of the measured signal. However, it is also possible to base the calculation on a commonly calculated modulation spectrum instead. In this case, the input signal can first be decomposed into frequency bands by means of a bandpass filter, and then the envelope can be determined in these frequency bands. Frequency analysis of these envelopes of each bandpass filtered signal then provides the modulation spectrum.

[0031] The method is based on an algorithm with a double Fourier transform. In a first step, the frequency spectrum of the block is calculated from the time curve of the measured signal, which spectr...

Abstract

The present invention relates to a method and equipment for analyzing noise source, especially noise of vehicle. The method for analyzing the noise of the noise source comprises the following steps: determining a plurality of modulation spectra Pm (n, m) by Fourier transform using a signal characteristic of a signal of a function with measuring time as structural sound and/or airborne sound, calculating paramter characteristics of noise to be analyzed from the modulation spectra, and real time executing the calculation of the paramter characteristics from operation of the noise source. Improved calibration of the pulse type noise phenomenon can be realized by using the present invention.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for analyzing noise of a noise source. The method and device are particularly suitable for use in vehicles or portable measuring devices. Background technique [0002] Impulse-type noise phenomena such as subjectively unpleasant combustion noises or injector "ticks" are increasingly pronounced in motor vehicles using diesel engines or using direct gasoline injection. [0003] EP 1462778 A1 discloses a method and a device for the quantitative analysis of engine noise, in which case first a short-term frequency analysis of the time profile of the measured noise is carried out in a plurality of overlapping time windows. The short-term spectrum thus obtained is used to calculate the modulation spectrum, wherein the characteristic properties of the pulse-shaped components of the engine noise occurring therein can then be further quantified by calculating the noise index (DKI) and can also be specifica...
