Abstract

Basic structural units of the alumina ceramic fiber are alpha-Al2O3 nano particles of which the particle diameter is 10-40nm and alpha-Al2O3 nano plates which are 20-30nm thick, and the diameter of the fiber is 350-800nm. The preparation method comprises the following steps: preparing a spinning fluid by asol-gel method; preparing a gel fiber by an electrostatic spinning technology; and carrying out two-stage calcination to obtain the alpha-Al2O3 ceramic fiber. The fiber is uniform and continuous, is difficult to break, has favorable flexibility, good thermal stability and excellent mechanical property, can be used as a high-temperature catalyst carrier and high-temperature insulating material, and can also be used as an infrared radiation material and sealing material.
