Abstract

A technology of desulphurization by regenerated ammonia with combined production of calcium sulfate whisker. specifically, calcium carbide slurry is used as a raw material to react with ammonium chloride (or ammonium nitrate) to generate calcium chloride (or calcium nitrate) and simultaneously regenerate ammonia for desulphurization; and after the desulphurization product ammonium sulfite is oxidated to be ammonium sulfate, the ammonium sulfate is reacted with the calcium chloride (or calcium nitrate) to prepare calcium sulfate whisker, wherein the ammonium chloride (or ammonium nitrate) generated by the ammonium sulfate and the calcium chloride ( or calcium nitrate) is recycled. The technology is advantageous in that: (1) the desulfurization rate is more than 95%, and the absorbent ammonia is obtained by regeneration; (2) the regeneration reaction is relatively complete, with the conversion rate of the calcium carbide slurry being more than 95%; (3) the loss of the ammonia is reduced by more than 10%; (4) the desulphurization energy consumption is reduce by more than 10%; (5) the investment on desulphurization equipment is decreased by more than 20%, and the investment on whisker production equipment is decreased by more than 20%; and (6) the obtained calcium sulfate whisker has a high length-diameter ratio which reaches 50-200, high whiteness which reaches 90%, and high purity which reaches 99%.
