[0023] According to the formula in Table 1, each component was added into the stirring tank, and then stirred at room temperature for 20 minutes to make the mixture evenly mixed. The stirring speed was 3000 rpm, and a series of compositions of the present invention could be obtained.

[0024] Table 1:

[0025]

[0026] The compositions obtained in Examples 1-4 and Comparative Examples 1-2 were coated on a steel plate with a coater, and dried at room temperature for 1 hour to obtain a smooth coating with a coating thickness of 200 microns. The coating was then tested for recoatability and corrosion resistance, and the results are shown in Table 2.

[0027] Among them, the recoating property is tested according to ASTM D3359-02 using the grid tape method, and the result is characterized by the recoating window time (in days). The longer the recoating window time, the better the recoating property. Corrosion resistance is to be put into seawater by coating and soak for a peri...

Abstract

The invention provides a coating composition. The coating composition comprises (a) 20-70 percentage by weight of phenolic resin, (b) 20-40 percentage by weight of polyvinyl chloride-vinyl acetate-maleic anhydride ternary block copolymer, (d) 1-2 percentage by weight of curing agent and (e) 1-10 percentage by weight of padding. The coating composition can be used for sea environments and has good corrosion resistance and recoatability.

Description

Technical field: [0001] The invention relates to a coating composition, in particular to a phenolic resin coating composition which can be used in seawater environment. Background technique: [0002] To date, various heavy duty coating compositions have been used on various parts of the hull such as the hull shell, exposed decks, superstructure, holds and ballast tanks. Of these hull sections, the hull shell can be roughly divided into three areas: (1) the bottom, which is the area which is always submerged in water (both fresh and sea); (2) the freeboard, which is the area which is not submerged; (3) The mid-waterline hull, which lies between the bottom and the freeboard, undergoes repeated immersion in water and exposure to the atmosphere. When coating the hull shell, the coating used on the side is required to be weather-resistant, because this area is exposed to strong sunlight and severe wind and waves; the coating used on the bottom is required to have anti-fouling pr...
