The cotton-ripening ethrel additive is a mixture composed of following components: a 1-10% naphthenate, cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide and monopotassium phosphate, wherein the 1-10% naphthenate accounts for 0.1-99.8% by mass, the cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide accounts for 0.1-99.8% by mass and the balance of the monopotassium phosphate. The ethrel additive can be used for replacing thidiazuron and being mixed and compounded with ethrel totally or partially for solving a problem that the thidiazuron is required to be introduced from abroad and is high in cost. Meanwhile, the ethrel additive is good in disleaving and ripening effects on cotton, can satisfy a machine-harvested cotton technical requirement and can increase grade and yield of the cotton. Compared with the single-used ethrel, the ethrel additive, after being compounded with the ethrel, can increase a disleaving ratio by 10-20% and boll opening by 10-15%.
