The invention discloses a root cutting method for apocarya. The root cutting method comprises the following steps: cutting off a main root of an apocarya nursery-grown plant from a part which is 5-6cm away from the ground, then transplanting the plant into a seedling container, watering the plant thoroughly, and covering the container by a sunshade net. The root cutting method disclosed by the invention is mainly used for suppressing the apical dominance of the main root and promoting increase of the numbers and lengths of lateral roots and fibrous roots, so that a developed and compact root system is formed. According to the method, the ratio of the lengths of the nursery-grown plant above and below the ground can be adjusted, and the phenomena of root circling and root hiding in the container can be avoided; furthermore, the fibrous roots of the apocarya nursery-grown plant on the shallow soil layer are rich and can provide nutrients for the growth of overground parts; the seedling height and the ground diameter growth are promoted; the rejuvenation period is short after transplanting or nursery-grown plant foresting, and the survival rate is high.
