Abstract

The invention provides a powder coating additive, a preparation method and an application thereof. The powder coating additive includes a cationic surfactant, polyvinyl butyral resin, nano silicon dioxide, higher fatty acid and calcium carbonate. The preparation method includes the steps of uniformly mixing the calcium carbonate, the nano silicon dioxide, the polyvinyl butyral resin and the cationic surfactant and then adding the higher fatty acid with uniform mixing to prepare the powder coating additive. By means of addition of the powder coating additive to a powder coating in the prior art, electricity charge of powder particles is effectively increased during electrostatic spray-coating and further coating rate is increased. During spray coating, charges on surface of a workpiece can be released timely, thereby overcoming an electrostatic shielding effect and increasing the spray coating area on the workpiece by more than 15%. Meanwhile, the powder coating additive enables edges and corners or inner surfaces to be coated easily and a coating operation of the edges and corners on the workpiece is significantly improved. The powder coating additive reduces waste during construction and reduces production cost of enterprises. The powder coating additive enables the powder coating to be operated conveniently, solves a difficult problem of coating the edges and corners on the workpiece, and is wide in application.
