Abstract

The invention discloses a powder metallurgy gear case material which comprises the following components in percentage by weight: 3-16% of MoSi2 ceramic powder, 0.5-3% of nickel powder, 0.1-2% of molybdenum powder, 0.5-3% of graphite, 0.2-2.5% of poly(vinyl isobutyl ether), 0.2-2.5% of zinc stearate and the balance of iron powder, and the weight percentages of the above components total 100%. The powder metallurgy gear case material provided by the invention has the advantages that a metal ceramic composite is formed by adding the iron powder and the MoSi2 ceramic powder; the refining of a two-phase micro-interface is facilitated by adding trace amounts of the nickel powder and the molybdenum powder; and the wear resistance and the strength of a gear case made of the powder metallurgy gear case material are further improved.
