However, this only improves the adhesion of the organic coating to the transfer layer, but does not prevent the transfer layer from detaching from the surface of the black iron sheet under strong mechanical loads

Embodiment Construction

[0036] The primary product for the method according to the invention is black iron sheet coated with a conversion layer. Such black iron sheets are heat-treated according to the invention in order to improve the adhesion of the organic coating to the black iron sheet, in particular to lacquer or polymer coatings. It is mainly pointed out here that the heat treatment according to the invention can substantially improve the adhesion of the conversion layer to the surface of the black iron sheet (steel strip). This avoids the risk that the conversion layer with the organic coating will detach from the surface when the coated black sheet is deformed.

[0037] A method for producing a conversion-coated black sheet is described in DE 10 2013 107 506 A1. DE 10 2013 107 506 A1 is cited and its disclosure content is incorporated as content of the present invention. In the method of DE 10 2013 107506 A1, a chrome-free conversion layer is applied to the black iron sheet in a two-stage ...

Abstract

The invention relates to a method of thermally treating a black plate which is coated with a conversion coating. The conversion-coated black plate is heated during a thermal treatment time (t) from 0.1 second to 30 seconds to a temperature in the range of 240 DEG C. to 320 DEG C. The heat treatment makes it possible to improve the adhesion of the conversion coating to the black plate surface. The heat treatment is performed in the use of the method. The invention also relates to a method of manufacturing a corrosion-resistant black plate, in which prior to, during or after the heat treatment, an organic coating in the form of paint or a polymer coating is applied to the conversion coating of the black plate.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a method for heat treatment of ferrous sheet coated with a conversion layer and to the use of the method in the manufacture of corrosion-resistant ferrous sheet. Background technique [0002] In order to protect metal surfaces against corrosion, methods are known in which the metal surface is provided with a coating of another metal which is usually free of heavy metals such as zinc and chromium, for example. Thus, for example, known steel sheets are coated with zinc or chromium or also with tin (which however is more expensive than steel). For the production of packaging, especially in the food sector, tinned metal foils (tin sheets), for example, are very widely used. Tinplate is distinguished by very good corrosion resistance and good deformation properties as well as its weldability and is therefore very well suited for the production of packagings such as beverage cans, for example. [0003] In order to protect m...
