Abstract

The invention pertains to a method of monitoring a battery (1) and an alternator (4) and their electrical connections, the battery (1) comprising a positive and a negative terminal and the alternator(4) supplying a current regulator (3) disposed between them while exhibiting, on one side, a first and a second electrical connection respectively to the positive and negative terminals and, on the other side, electrical connections with the alternator (4), the battery (1) exhibiting a level of charge and being recharged by the alternator (4) via the regulator (3). The second electrical connectionbetween the negative terminal of the battery (1) and the regulator (3) is interrupted upon a demand for motor torque above a predetermined value of torque under a first condition that the effective voltage of the battery (1) is greater than a predetermined minimum voltage, then reestablished for a motor torque demand below the predetermined value.
