Abstract

The invention relates to an application of an LEC2 plant in improving low nitrogen stress tolerance of plants, and belongs to the field of genetic engineering. On the basis, the invention further provides a method for improving the low nitrogen stress tolerance of the plants, wherein the method comprises the following steps: firstly, constructing a recombinant plant expression vector containing anLEC2 transcription factor; then, transforming the constructed recombinant plant expression vector into plant tissues or cells and implementing ectopic expression; and breeding and screening out transgenic plants that low nitrogen stress tolerance is enhanced. According to the invention, the novel application of the LEC2 transcription factor in the aspect of improving the low nitrogen stress tolerance of the plants is disclosed; and the invention is significant for improving nitrogenous fertilizer utilization efficiency of the plants and developing a saving-type agricultural mode.
