Abstract

The invention discloses a satellite network architecture based on SDN and ICN technologies, comprising: an application layer, a control layer and a forwarding layer, wherein the application layer implements services such as content caching, name resolution, message routing and security; the northbound interface between the application layer and the control layer implements the deployment of the services; the control layer is hierarchically distributed, the internal controllers communicate through an east-west interface, and each controller provides an open interface to implement the programmable function of the application layer to the controller; the forwarding layer includes a low-track OpenFlow-based satellite node and a ground OpenFlow switch, and the layer implements message forwarding according to the flow table delivered by the control. The architecture improves the speed of network data transmission by utilizing the characteristics of ICN buffering while simplifying satellite network management through simplifying the characteristics of SDN transfer control. And through this combination, the deployment of ICN is capable of minimizing the modification of network protocols and maximizing the compatibility with existing network infrastructure.
