Abstract

The invention discloses a self-balancing caterpillar-type fast transient overvoltage generator. A Marx generator, insulating partitions, a steepening gap, a signal output interface, a GIS tank body, aGIS transmission bus, a variable impedance conversion connector and a VFTO output window are combined to form a VFTO generation component, so that detection operation of GIS equipment becomes simpler; the VFTO generation component is loaded by using a caterpillar-type loader to improve the maneuverability of the VFTO generation component; the caterpillar-type loader comprises adjustable hydraulicsupport frames, extended legs, vertical hydraulic cylinders, caterpillar chassises, a control room and pressure sensors; the pressure sensors, a signal processing terminal and a PLC are arranged intothe control room; the pressure sensors are connected to the PLC via signals; the PLC adjusts the vertical hydraulic cylinders and the adjustable hydraulic support frames through commanding a first control valve and a second control valve, so that the caterpillar chassises are self-levelled; and the adjustable hydraulic support frames adjust the position of a second support plate in a horizontal direction or a vertical direction, so that docking of the VFTO generation component and to-be-tested GIS equipment is more stable and efficient.
