The formula of the adhesive for metal comprises raw materials in parts by weight as follows: 100 parts of a polyisocyanate adhesive, 40-60 parts of chlorinated rubber cement containing chlorinated rubber and a solvent as well as 40-60 parts of chloroprene rubber cement containing chloroprene rubber and a solvent. The application of the adhesive for the metal comprises the steps as follows: (1) preparation of the chloroprene rubber cement; (2) preparation of the chlorinated rubber cement; (3) compounding; (4) coating; (5) vulcanization. The vulcanization bonding strength of the adhesive with metal is greatly improved, the bonding strength is about 10 MPa, and the preparation process is simple and feasible while the bonding performance is improved. The adhesive has low requirements for application environments and little use limitation.
