Abstract

The invention discloses a soybean leaf-specific promoter GmGLP3 (Glyma16g00980). The polynucleotide sequence of the soybean leaf-specific promoter is shown in SEQ ID NO 1, and the soybean gene GmGLP3can be specifically highly expressed in soybean leaves but is little expressed in other tissue parts. The invention further discloses application of the soybean leaf-specific promoter GmGLP3 in prevention of plant diseases and insect pests infecting the soybean leaves. The soybean leaf-specific promoter GmGLP3 can be efficiently expressed in leaves of arabidopsis thaliana but is little expressed in other tissue. The soybean leaf-specific promoter GmGLP3 is not expressed in soybean roots. The soybean leaf-specific promoter GmGLP3 can drive a disease-resistant gene to be efficiently expressed inthe leaves of the model plant arabidopsis thaliana, and the influence of transgenes on edible parts of the plants is reduced.
