The invention aims to solve the problem that an existing aluminum alloy is not suitable for manufacturing the auxiliary frame structure of the transmission tower. The aluminum alloy is prepared from the following components in percent by mass: 5-6.1% of Zn, 1.2-1.9% of Mg, 0.1-0.3% of Mn, 0.05-0.25% of Cu, 0.05-0.25% of Zr, 0.02-0.1% of Ti, less than or equal to 0.25% of Fe, less than or equal to 0.15% of Si and the balance of Al and other inevitable impurity elements. The preparation method comprises the following steps: I, material preparation; II, smelting; III, two-stage refining; IV, coordinated deterioration; and V, casting.
