Abstract

The invention discloses a linear polarization wave arbitrary polarization angle converter with a planar artificial electromagnetic structure, which is used for realizing angle deflection of linear polarization electromagnetic waves polarized in any direction. Aresonance unit is formed by compounding three parts: four rectangular copper patches, two insulating F4B dielectric substrates, and a copper metal foundation plate pressed between the two dielectric substrates. Two holes are dug in the dielectric substrate, and the edges of the holes are plated with copper. The polarization conversion mechanism is as follows:when 5.8 GHzlinearly-polarized waves polarized in any direction are incident to the front surface of the structure,resonance is generated through coupling of the planar single-stage sub-antenna, energy received by the front monopole sub-antenna is coupled to the back monopole sub-antenna through the copper-plated hole, and angle rotation of incident polarized waves is achieved through orthogonal decomposition of an incident electric field and synthesis of a transmission orthogonal electric field. Compared with atraditional polarization conversion device, theconverter hasthe advantages of simple structure, low insertion loss, high polarization conversion efficiency and low preparation cost, and is suitable for any-angle conversion of linearly polarized waves.
