The optical field in the fiber core is coupled with the out-of-core waveguide in the transmission process. During forward transmission, the optical field coupled into the out-of-core waveguide is transmitted at a certain distance and is coupled into the optical fiber again, and the energy loss of the optical field isvery small in the process; during reverse transmission, the light field coupled into the out-of-core waveguide is transmitted, guided into a cladding, then transmitted for a certain distance and lostby the optical fiber, and the energy loss of the light field in the process is very large. The group of out-of-core waveguides is called as an optical isolation unit, and an optical fiber isolation system is formed by cascading one or more optical isolation units. The insertion loss and the isolation degree can be controlled by controlling the number of the cascaded optical isolation units; the polarization characteristic of the isolation system can be controlled by controlling the angle distribution of the isolation units on the section.
