Problems solved by technology

Ordinary copper wire with an untreated surface does not trap particles effectively and thus charges slowly
Trapped particles convert their energy into electrical charge, but the electrical energy so collected cannot be effectively utilized due to the slow and inefficient capture of these particles

Embodiment Construction

[0046] figure 1 An example of a device 100 for converting electrical energy is shown in . The device 100 comprises a stack of a positive electrode 102 , a gas permeable insulator 103 and a negative electrode 101 .

[0047] The positive electrode 102 is made of a filler and a thermosetting resin as a binder. The thermosetting resin may be an epoxy resin, which may be cured by suitable hardeners known to those skilled in the art. The filler contains titanium dioxide. The filling also contains activated carbon particles. The filler is ground into titanium dioxide particles and activated carbon particles with a particle size of less than 500 microns. Activated carbon particles are made of carbon particles that can be pyrolyzed in the temperature range of 600°C–900°C. The finely ground activated carbon particles acquire a fractal shape during pyrolysis. This improves the capture of charged particles from Earth's atmosphere. As shown for example in US Published Patent Applica...

Abstract

A device for converting electrical energy from electrically charged particles, comprises a positive electrode, the positive electrode comprises a composition arranged in a plate shape, the composition comprises a binding agent and a filler, wherein the filler is dispersed through the binding agent, and the filler comprises at least titanium dioxide and activated carbon particles. The device further comprises a negative electrode, arranged in a plate shape, the negative electrode comprises a metal alloy, wherein the metal alloy comprises aluminium, and magnesium. The device further comprises a gas permeable insulator. The positive electrode, the gas permeable insulator and the negative electrode are stacked into a laminated structure. The gas permeable insulator is arranged as an intermediate layer between the positive electrode and the negative electrode.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a device for generating electrical energy and a method for producing the device. Background technique [0002] While fossil energy sources such as oil and natural gas are rapidly being depleted, and the global demand for renewable clean energy is growing, new technologies for generating energy are emerging. An example of such a technology is the conversion of solar energy into electricity, where photovoltaic conversion is used to convert solar radiation into electricity. [0003] Solar radiant energy is not the only renewable energy source. Charged particles are abundant in the Earth's atmosphere, providing an unlimited source of energy. This energy is known to be harvested using copper wires that can be suspended in the atmosphere and trap charged particles. A suspended copper wire exhibits a build-up of charge that can be measured electrically, for example using a voltmeter. However, useful applications of this charge, su...
