Embodiment

[0031] Example

[0032] 2. Measurement of bond shear strength

[0033] The effect of acidic monomers in adhesive formulation was examined by determining the bond shear strength on dentin and enamel. Human teeth were used which were preserved in a 0.5% chloramine T-solution for up to 3 months after extraction. The teeth were carefully rinsed under running water before applying the adhesion test. The day before the application of the adhesion test, the teeth were buried with TECHNOVIT 4001 in a cylindrical rubber membrane and each tooth was on abutting surfaces. These teeth were ground by wet grinding with 80.240 grit SiC paper and finally 600 grit SiC paper to such an extent that sufficient dentin and enamel surfaces were exposed for use with 2.38mm diameter plastic Cylindrical bonding. After rinsing with desalinated water, the teeth are air-dried. The formulations made from Examples 2A-F were applied to tooth surfaces in three coats with a brush, dried in a press...

Abstract

The invention provides a photocurable self-etching all-in-one dental adhesive contains at least one acrylate or methacrylate monomer, at least one acidic component, at least one photoinitiator, at least one water-miscible solvent, water, and SiO<2> having a particle size of 5 to 100 nm and not agglomerated. The adhesive is, for example, suitable for adhering and fixing a direct filling raw material, or for fixing an indirect filling raw material which is produced in a work room, by being combined with an additional neutralizing layer and fixing cement.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a photohardening, self-regulating, nanoparticle-containing one-component dental adhesive. Background technique [0002] Adhesion to dental hard tissue is often accomplished by mechanical retention on microporous and rough surfaces. Therefore, after cavity modification, prior to the application of adhesive, the dental hard tissue is pretreated to obtain the largest possible adhesion surface that is easy to maintain and can be well wetted. Next, there is a need for a sufficiently thin-flowing adhesive with good wetting properties to roughen the surface. After the adhesive has been processed, the cavity surface is sealed and prepared to accept the filler material. [0003] Two techniques are widely used for the treatment of dental hard tissue prior to placement of fillings: [0004] 1. In the so-called complete etching technique, the surface treatment of the hard tissue of the tooth is carried out by using phosphoric ac...
