14 results about "Shotgun pellet" patented technology

The shot pellets from a shotgun spread upon leaving the barrel, and the power of the burning charge is divided among the pellets, which means that the energy of any one ball of shot is fairly low.

System And Method For Recovery Of Undamaged Frangible Aerial Targets

ActiveUS20260049797A1Target rangesMovable targetsAbove groundShotgun pellet
A system and method for recovery of undamaged frangible aerial targets at shooting ranges includes a net positioned horizontally above ground level to cover a target fall zone. The net has mesh openings sized to retain undamaged frangible aerial targets while allowing damaged targets to pass through. The net forms a closed loop around parallel elongated front and rear rollers supported above ground by a plurality of fixed caster assemblies. A motor operatively coupled to at least one roller drives the net in a conveyor-like motion. Undamaged targets landing on the net are transported by the net to a collection area positioned adjacent to the front roller. The system may include friction strips on the rollers to enhance traction and a protective barrier shielding the collection area from stray shotgun pellets, thereby enabling recovery and reuse of targets that would otherwise break upon ground impact.

Manstop, a hand weapon designed in the style of a signal pistol for the temporary incapacitation of an attacker by throwing a sticky net over them.

Steel flare / signal pistol - Figure 1 - 1. as a breech-loading pistol (1) 1. with rooster (2) 2. with a tilting barrel (3) such as this one from Heckler & Koch with a bore of 30-40 mm, a length of 100 to 150 mm, the pivot / tilt axis (6) and the trigger guard (7). The tilting barrel - Figure 2 - Enables quick cartridge changes. 2. These contain a cartridge (4) based on a standard shotgun cartridge - Figure 3 - with a propellant charge (8) which is capable of pressing a [missing information] in front of the propellant charge polyester mesh or other rubber-like material (5) - Figure 4 - The net is hurled to a distance of 2 to 10 meters, the usual proximity between the individuals involved. Due to air resistance, the net expands to a width of approximately 1.5 meters, restricting the "attacker's" movement so severely that the user of the weapon can easily overpower them without endangering themselves and prevent any attack. The heat from the ignited propellant causes the polyester net to melt slightly, becoming sticky and adhering to the person hit. This prevents them from freeing themselves quickly enough to avoid being restrained by police officers or even launching an actual attack.

Laser Ignition Device

A device / system for firing a firearm round by igniting a specialized propellant in a specialized shell / casing / cartridge (hereinafter cartridge) with laser optics. The preferred embodiment and the system disclosed herein is intended for retrofitted use in a bolt action rifle, however, the principle may be applied to embodiments for pistols, shotguns and military munitions with minor changes to the laser's power, the focal lens for the cartridge and the laser ignitable propellant. The munitions cartridge design, its focal lens / window and column of charge constitute a critical element of this laser ignition device.

Ammunition Containers and Related Methods

A stackable ammunition tray may include a body member having a threaded bore and a plurality of ammunition cavities extending downwardly from an upper surface of the body member, and a removable handle having an outer surface including male threads, the male threads being threadably engageable with the threaded bore. The ammunition cavities may be filled with rounds of ammunition, such as handgun or rifle bullets, or shotgun shells, for example. The stackable ammunition tray is lowered into a container, which may be sized and shaped to snugly receive and house the tray. Once the tray is placed inside the container, the handle may be threadably disengaged from the tray, and then attached to another tray, which is then lowered down on top of the first tray already in the container. This may be repeated for successive trays depending on the size and shape of the trays and the container.

Semi-automatic shotgun and components thereof

A semiautomatic shotgun comprising a receiver, a barrel, a forward gas block assembly attached to the barrel, a slider assembly rearward of the gas block assembly extending into the receiver. Upon firing a shotshell the explosive gases in the barrel are diverted through two ports into the gas block assembly, specifically into a pair of lateral pressure relief valves positioned on both sides of the barrel. The pressure relief valves further having a gas pathway from the barrel provided by clusters of holes less than a specific size and on-center with the barrel axis. A piston is forced rearwardly and engages a slider of the slider assembly that is linked to a breech block in the receiver. The breech block loads unfired shells and ejects the fired shells accomplishing the semiautomatic recycling. The dual pressure relief valves actuate to moderate and limit the gas pressure that enters the piston chamber when using shotshells of different power levels thereby providing consistency in the recycling operation. The shotgun assembled with a plurality of retention pins having uniformly sized O-rings.

Airsoft shotgun firing mechanism

ActiveUS12674642B2Shotgun pelletGun barrel
An Airsoft shotgun firing mechanism has been developed that fires the spherical projectiles of each shot sequentially in rapid succession. The shotgun firing mechanism directs the airflow sequentially against each spherical projectile in the shot, thus pushing each spherical projectile out of the barrel of the Airsoft shotgun. The flow rates of the air are balanced for all the spherical projectiles so all of the spherical projectiles are accelerating when the last spherical projectile is fired. By balancing the airflows, the spherical projectiles have essentially the same energy. The relative acceleration of the spherical projectiles out of the shotgun barrel is determined or selected by balancing the size and configuration of a bypass channel versus the number or stack of spherical projectiles to be fired.
