Self-illuminated structural panel units and systems including the same

Position adjustable self-illuminated panel units may be used in combination with conventional shelf supports. Preferred shelf-units include a light-transmissive panel, a shelf frame holding the panel and having an illumination element for providing a light source to illuminate the panel, and a magnetic connector electrically interconnected to the illumination element and adapted to being magnetically and electrically coupled to a source of electrical power. The illumination element most preferably includes an LED strip housed within one member of the frame and positioned adjacent to an edge of the panel. A magnetic connector includes a pair of electrically conductive side panels, an electrically non-conductive spacer sandwiched between the side panels, and a pair of magnet bars fixed to the spacer. The magnet bars define an air gap therebetween such that electrical contact may be established between the magnet bars and a respective one of the side panels. Shelf lighting systems according to the present invention will most preferably include a self-illuminated panel unit as described briefly above, and a ferromagnetic power strip for supplying electrical power thereto. The magnetic connector is therefore capable of magnetic and electrical interconnection to the power strip (e.g., via the magnet bars thereof so as to in turn supply power to the panel unit (e.g., via lead wires connecting the side panels to the LED strip).

The housing is generally a linear tunnel permitting access of soiled carts at one end and removal of the clean, disinfected carts at the other end. A cart pusher system may be employed to transport the carts through the tunnel either singly or in nested groups. A convenient antimicrobial disinfecting solution is a water solution of hypochlorite. A single zone system is disclosed in which in a selected, optionally preprogrammed, sequence of application of pre-wash, wash, rinse, and disinfecting fluids are delivered to selected surfaces of the cart, followed by blown air, preferably heated, for stripping / drying,. The coupon strip comprises a leader portion and a coupon portion, and the leader can be wrapped and fixed around the grocery cart handle manually or by means of the automated machinery described. The system of the invention may be a fixed or mobile system, with the use preferably being on site at stores.

The puck can be selectively positioned along the low voltage frame in a variety of different locations. Dual Action Scooper for clumping and non-clumping cat litter

An improved hand-held two-stage cat-litter scooper tool critically configured to more effectively segregate and lift-away wet cat-litter, without causing migration into, or disturbing clean dry areas. The planar leading-edge of the scooping-blade portion, is formed to either a 90-degree triangular, or transversely-square, plan-view shape; either shape thus able to project closely into the corners of a conventional cat-litter box. The rear portion of either scooping-blade includes an approximate 40-degree transverse-bend, creating an aftward containment-bowl area, effectively holding wet cat-litter when the rearward projecting handle is tilted down (the scooping-blade thus tilting upward) after a horizontal forward scooping motion. The handle is arranged along the medial longitudinal-axis of the tool, angling upward at approximately 45-degrees relative to the plane of the scooping-blade, facilitating the special "tilt-loading action" without dragging of one's hand into the cat-litter. A further aid to performance of the tool being shoved through soiled cat-litter, includes acutely up-turned blade sides; both set slightly back from the actual frontal-sides of the scooping-blade. This particular formation being discovered to function most effectively, providing minimal disturbance to surrounding cat-litter, while very precisely shaving away waste cat-litter. Generic-variations include a preferred 2-piece construction, embodying a stainless-steel blade portion, permanently locking into a retention-groove formed into the aftward injection-molded plastic-body forming the side-walls of the essential containment-bowl; including an integral handle member thereto.
