Abstract

The invention discloses a water reducer and a method for producing the same by utilizing zirconium silica residues. The method comprises the following steps: adding diluted alkali water to silica residues containing zirconium for neutralization and stopping the neutralization until the pH value is 6-8 for filter pressing so as to obtain a filter cake; adding the diluted alkali water to the filter cake for evaporation and concentration; sending the filter cake into a reaction kettle with a reaction adjustment modulus of 0.7-1.2; when the solid content is between 35 percent and 55 percent, sending the filter cake into a crystallizer; and adding 5-30 percent of inoculating crystal into the crystallizer for crystallization so as to obtain the water reducing agent. The method effectively utilizes a large amount of the zirconium silica residues produced by producing zirconium oxychloride. The water reducing agent contains ZrO2 which can increase the whiteness and the strength of ceramics so as to greatly reduce the production cost, has simple production method, solves the problem of pollution of the zirconium silica residues to the environment and is suitable for popularization.
