Abstract

The invention discloses a method for treating road surface runoff contamination, which comprises the following steps of: throwing at least two layers of granular vermiculite with a grain diameter of between 15 and 40mm into side ditches or evaporation ponds or infiltration ponds on two sides of the road to carry out the adsorption type purification and contamination drainage treatment to the contaminants such as suspended matters, ammonia nitrogen and heavy metal ions which gather in the road surface runoff and settle into the side ditches or evaporation ponds or infiltration ponds so as to remove the road surface runoff contamination. The absorption and purification effects of the vermiculite layers used for absorbing and purifying the rainwater in the road surface runoff are obviously better than those of other absorbents such as active carbon. The on-site test result shows that the method has a good effect and is simple in construction method, low in vermiculite cost and wide in application range.
