Royalene 521 is an amorphous terpolymer of about 58% ethylene, 38% propylene, and 4% ethylidene norbornene (ENB) with a number average molecular weight (Mn) of about 140,000 and a Mw / Mn of about 2.9. After cooling to 40°C, the solution was coated onto a release liner to form a 2 mil film when dry. 2 grams of the dried film were placed in 50 grams of landfill composition containing 35% water according to ASTM D5526; 2 grams were placed in 50 grams of landfill having a water content of 60%. None of the samples showed significant changes after 120 days in landfill at 35°C. Removed from landfill, rinsed with water and dried, sample weight unchanged within 1%.

Example 2 was then carried out with the aforementioned Kenrich NZ 38J, zirconate analogs of Lica 38J, with Royalene 521 in a 35% water landfill. The weight loss was 10, 20, 63 and 95% after 30, 60, 90 and 120 days, respectively.
