This invention relates to a method for measuring the filling state of a
spinning preparation
machine (1) for
processing fiber bundles (2) that can be erected or is already erected on a fixed base plate (3), wherein the
spinning preparation
machine (1) has: a plurality of side-by-side filling channels (5) for
fiber bundles (2); a feeding channel (6) provided above the filling channels (5), which is connected to a central
fiber bundle inlet (9) on the input side and has a base plate opening (7) for each filling channel (5) on the output side; a plurality of locking mechanisms (11) provided in the feeding channel (6), the locking mechanisms being adjustable by means of an adjuster (36); and a
control unit (37) configured to adjust the adjuster (36) for filling the filling channels (5) with fiber bundles (2) such that only one base plate opening (5) is always aligned with the central
fiber bundle inlet (9) based on the adjusted position of the
locking mechanism (11) at the same time. The method comprises the following steps: a connection; a
discharge device (34) disposed below the filling channel (5), the
discharge device being connected to the filling channel (5) on the input side and to a central
fiber bundle discharge section (18) on the output side; a weighing device (26)
signal-connected to a
control unit (37), the weighing device being disposed in the force line between the filling channel (5) and a fixed base plate (3), and wherein the method comprises the following steps: measuring the
weight change of the weighing device (26) within a defined time interval during the filling process and / or the emptying process; calculating the change in the filling weight of the filling channel (5) by the
control unit (37) based on the
weight change within the defined time interval; calculating the filling state of the filling channel (5) by the control unit, wherein the change in filling weight is distributed to the at least one filling channel (5), the filling channel being connected to the
fiber bundle inlet section (9) based on the adjustment position of the
locking mechanism within the defined time interval. The invention also relates to a
