Abstract

The invention provides a method for preparing anti-cancer total saponin extractsof oplopanax elatus nakai leaves and application thereof in anti-cancer medicaments. The method comprises the following steps: 1) crashing the oplopanax elatus nakai leaves into coarse powder; 2) extracting the powder of the oplopanax elatus nakai leaves by using water or aqueous ethanol; filtering the obtained extracting solution, combining filtrates and concentrating the filtrates to obtain a concentrated liquor; and 3) concentrating the concentrated liquor at a reduced pressure and drying the concentrate to obtain the total saponin extracts of oplopanax elatus nakai leaves. The total saponins in the total saponin extracts of the oplopanax elatus nakai leaves prepared by the method accounts for over 20 percent of the weight of the total saponin extracts of the oplopanax elatus nakai leaves and the yield is of between 1 to 30 percent. Pharmacological tests prove that the extracts have a good anti-caner effect. The total saponin extracts of the oplopanax elatus nakai leaves can be applied alone or in combination with other medicaments to serve as a raw material medicament for preparing a medicament preparation with the anti-cancer effect.
