Abstract

The worm gear comprises the following components in percentage by weight: 3.5 to 3.9 percent of C, 2.3 to 2.9 percent of Si, less than or equal to 0.4 percent of Mn, less than or equal to 0.035 percent of P, less than or equal to 0.03 percent of S, 0.2 to 0.3 percent of Mo, 0.3 to 0.6 percent of Cu, 0.2 to 0.5 percent of Ni and the balance of iron. The preparation process comprises the following steps: smelting the components, taking a rare earth magnesium alloy as a spheroidizing agent and ferrosilicon as an inoculating agent, and casting a blank after treatment; roughly machining the blank of the worm gear, heating and isothermally quenching to obtain a proper amount of retained austenite; and finishing a gear to prepare the alloy austenitic-bainite ductile iron worm gear.
