[0044] The reflectors according to the invention were produced on an extrusion line by melting polycarbonate pellets by means of a screw extruder and pressing the melt through a slot die. During the extrusion process, these slot dies are set up so that the silver foil can be fed between the layers formed. Feed the silver foil in at exactly the same rate as the plastic layer is coming from the extruder. One of the slot dies was selected so that a 0.3 mm thick polycarbonate layer was formed on one side of the foil, the other slot die was selected below the foil so that a 4 mm thick layer was formed there. The layer thickness of the silver foil itself is 25 μm. In summary, a reflector with a size of 7m x 0.5m was fabricated. The reflector is provided with the usual structural elements to create and maintain a precise parabolic shape. The reflector according to the invention is provided with usually adhesively bonded reinforcing elements.
