The melamine test paper is prepared by the following steps of: preparing alizarin red, methylene blue and andlauryl sodium sulphate into an aqueous solution, wherein the concentration of each substance in the aqueous solution is: 0.0167 mol/L of the alizarin red, 2.10*10<-5> mol/L of the methylene blue and 0.015 mol/L of the andlauryl sodium sulphate; immersing filter paper into the aqueous solution, taking out and drying; and shearing into strips to obtain the melamine test paper. When the melamine test paper is in use, the method for detecting the melamine comprises the steps of: adding EDTA (Ethylene Diamine Tetraacetic Acid) solid powder into the to-be-detected liquid cream which is prepared from milk or by mixing milk powder; evenly agitating and heating and micro boiling for 5 min; statically placing and depositing; immersing the test paper into the liquid cream liquid supernatant; and wetting and then extracting out.
