Problems solved by technology

If a 100kHz alternating magnetic field is used, the field strength of the above-mentioned large-scale applicator should reach about 7kA / m or higher. Due to the need for a relatively long irradiation time, it can reach about one hour, and the patient cannot actually tolerate the effect of circulation

Embodiment Construction

[0033] attached figure 1 Shown is a schematic diagram of a magnetic field therapy applicator in the form of a large applicator 1 for thermotherapy, in which it can be performed on a body in which a magnetic or magnetisable substance is introduced as a ferrofluid.

[0034] The large applicator 1 comprises a three-legged M-shaped yoke 2 with two parallel vertical yoke parts 3, 4 spaced apart and two transverse yoke parts 5, 6 connected therebetween. .

[0035] The structural unit formed by the lower transverse yoke part 6 and its corresponding lower pole shoe 8 and the lower electromagnetic coil 10 is fixedly mounted. The self-locking screw drive 11 shown schematically in the figure is composed of two vertical yoke parts 3, 4, the connected upper transverse yoke part 5 and the corresponding upper pole shoe 7 and upper electromagnetic coil 9. The gantry is adjusted to adjust the irradiation gap width of the irradiation gap 13 . An approximately uniform alternating magnetic fie...

Abstract

The present invention relates to an alternating magnetic field application device for heating magnetic or magnetizable substances in biological tissue, particularly for thermal therapy using magnetic nanoparticles, made of a large applicator (1) having a magnetic yoke (2) and two opposing pole shoes (7, 8) separated by a field gap (13) on the magnetic yoke (2), and having two magnetic coils (9, 10) each associated with a pole shoe (7, 8) for generating a substantially homogenous alternating magnetic field (12) of a certain field strength in the field gap (13), wherein the biological tissue having the field applied thereto can be brought into the field gap (13) as a target field application volume. According to the invention, in the field gap (13) a field concentrator (19) is disposed near the biological tissue as the target field application volume, particularly on or in a patient near a body part to have the field applied, such as a diseased prostate (23), said concentrator concentrating the alternating magnetic field (12) of the large applicator (1) in the target volume and thereby locally amplifying said field.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to an alternating magnetic field therapy applicator for heating magnetic or magnetisable substances in biological tissue, in particular for hyperthermia using magnetic nanoparticles, according to the features stated in the preamble of claim 1 . Background technique [0002] EP 1 102 609 B1 discloses such an alternating magnetic field therapy applicator, which comprises a large applicator with a yoke and two opposing yokes on the yoke separated by an irradiation gap. pole piece and has two electromagnetic coils each corresponding to a pole piece. A large applicator control unit is connected to the large applicator for supplying an alternating current with a certain amplitude, frequency and phase, so that an alternating magnetic field with a certain field strength and as uniform as possible is generated in the irradiation gap. The biological tissue to be irradiated is accommodated in the irradiation gap as the irradiation target vo...
