A double earth polar gas purifying high energy electric field apparatus and a gas high energy discharge purifying method can purify gas efficiently. A high voltage polar is in a filament, net, aperture or tip projection shape and arranged on an external side of a medium; the medium has a channel for air-flow passing; an earth electrode comprises a conductive pipe or a conducting rod arranged in center of the medium channel and a conductive adsorbent arranged on an external side of an outlet of the medium channel. According to the method, the channel for gas flowing is arranged in a high voltage pulsed discharge electric field, which carries out corona-glow discharge in the channel to ionize the gas; the medium forms an additional electric field under effect of the high voltage pulsed electric field and reinforces the electrons or ions together with the high voltage electric field to enhance energy level and discharge energy density, so that high energy charged particles break pollutant chemical bonds and generate active substances in air to complete physical and chemical reactions for degrading and removing gas pollutants and killing bacteria and viruses; and the gas passes through the conductive adsorbent to further enhance purifying effect.
